Zeme is a board game-wargame hybrid. A typical match takes only 90 minutes–a fraction of most other wargames’ playtime. Zeme plays and feels like a combination of a typical wargame and traditional Chess.
Zeme’s default rule set consists of players with miniature, combat-ready characters battling over a hex-based map to score “victory points.” Amassing victory points tracks game progression and determines which player is victorious in battle. In turn, capturing “objective points” and eliminating enemy models is the usual way to score victory points, but expansions will add in gameplay variants such as, “king of the hill", “capture the flag", “protect the cargo” and more.
The current landscape of wargaming can be daunting, time-consuming, and expensive. We developed Zeme to eliminate barriers to entry and streamline the process of wargaming with smaller model count for painting and easy-to-learn rules. Most importantly, we designed Zeme to put strategy first. Zeme players simply pick an entire pre-set “scout” team of fighters that can take them from their very first game all the way to a competitive tournament. However, you will be able to swap out on operators to tune your team accordingly depending on your mission or the enemy team's units.
Our vision for Zeme is to take stressors out of wargaming and allow players to express themselves through pure tactics and a whole slew of hobby-related activities. Players can keep the game simple by using the default mono color models and game board. Or, you can go all out! You can design color schemes and paint their scout teams to the best of your ability, and build a custom board of your dreams!
